Career Prospect
  • The program is designed to be a full time program which will take four academic years.
  • This course will enable you to pursue your interests in nutrition, public health, dietetics, health, community, sports and exercise, medical and dental, government officials and academia.
  • This program involves academic studies and research active in relation to human nutrition and dietetics.
  • UACE or its equivalent with at least 2 principal passes in any of the science or technical related courses, like Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Physics, Technical drawing, Food and Nutrition; or a relevant Diploma program (not pass) from a recognized institution of higher learning.

Program structure

 The program is designed to introduce the learner to the various career paths in the human nutrition arena. The student is given an opportunity to choose the best career path that suites their interest and supported to acquire the requisite skill set.

You will learn in a supportive environment through lectures, group work and hands-on practical work in the laboratory all combined to build your skills and knowledge for an exciting career in food and nutritional sciences.

The Department has fully and well equipped food science and microbiology Lab for investigating the chemical, physical and biological properties of food.
