About the Faculty

Background

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences hosts three departments namely: Department of Agriculture, Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences and Department of Natural Resource Economics and Agribusiness. Our students are in demand in the job market because of a long-term built track record of discipline, integrity and professionalism that are synonymous with the UCU brand.

Skills development and laboratory facilities:

The department utilises a 50 acre piece of land located at Ntawo, Mukono for students’ practical learning. The functions of this centre include Training, Research, Technology generation, and dissemination of appropriate technologies to the surrounding communities. The department also has a fully and well equipped microbiology, chemistry and food science Lab to facilitate research and practical learning. Instructional facilities at the university include; Ham Mukasa Library which is fully stocked with relevant reading materials and E-resources, Computer laboratories, research laboratories and screen house facilities
