Masters of Science and Agriculture and Rural Development

The objective of this course is to provide advanced training to improve agricultural productivity, adaptability to facilitate the diversification of livelihoods to manage risks in rural areas. The courses taught strengthen capabilities in core analytic, conceptual, communications, innovations and research skills of relevance in agriculture and rural development. The programme is a 2 year weekend modular course. It targets a qualitative group (15-30 students each year) of community development professionals

Masters of Science in Agriculture by Research (MSAR)

This programme aims at giving students a wide range of knowledge and understanding at the fore front in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences informed by active research and or applied research. The program targets professionals with high interest in research in their in mid-career. The course is delivered through minimal face to face interaction with focus on directed readings, e-resources and active research.

Masters of Science in Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship

This program was specifically developed for professionals who would like to further build their skills and knowledge in Agri-business strategy, finance, agricultural and resource economics. Entreprenuserhip and the environmental issues they impact the sector. The course is a 2 year weekend modular course with intakes every September and January.

Entry requirements for Masters Programs:

Holders of at least a Second Class degree, or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Rural Innovations, Environmental Science, zoology, Botany and Biochemistry or in any other subject area judged relevant from a University recognized by Senate.

Intakes: January and September

PhD. Agricultural Systems and Value Chain Management

The main objective of this course is to prepare technically competent students who possess cross cutting expertise that span entire agricultural value chains and farming systems.

 Entry requirements:

A Masters degree recognized by NCHE in agricultural related field example. Agri-Business, Agronomy, Botany, Veterinary and Animal production, plant breeding, Biotechnology, soil Science etc.
